Nothing like hopping on an ocean liner and taking a trip across the gulf. Especially, when you can take your family and meet up with some of your besties to go cruisin together. So that’s what we did. We got with the Brewsters and booked us along with Papo and Lita on a Royal Caribbean cruise down to Mexico. “Voyager of the Seas” here we come!
It took months of planning and revising and searching to find the perfect place for a grand getaway with friends, but I finally did it. Boy oh boy was it worth it. I found a reunion house that could house all of us under one roof with everyone having the privacy they need, had a heated pool, was only 2 blocks from a private neighborhood beach.
We couldn’t take it any longer, this year was especially cold and nasty. With an ice storm approaching, we set out to brave the elements and get ourselves to Florida. This time, however, we drove, making a layover in Birmingham.
With the COVID-19 pandemic still looming over the world, we didn’t want to risk a flight somewhere. What better way to still have an awesome vacation than an epic road trip. It was early August when we set out for an unforgettable two-week-long family journey.
When the days get shorter and shorter in the midwest winter, sometimes you need to recharge in the sun. We all needed a recharge because this winter was particularly bad for us. Plus Oliver and Phinehas had only been to the beach once before. We can’t have that kind of track record. So in the middle of February we set off to Ft. Lauderdale.
